Beckoning Light, celebrating twenty years in 2020.

What better way to end this year than with Beckoning Light. In March, we planned to celebrate 20 years of the Studio & Gallery with a room full of friends and neighbors, but like everyone else, we have had to be creative and adapt. In true 2020 fashion, we are grateful to be able to share this exhibit with you safely in the gallery and virtually online.

Beckoning Light explores atmosphere and luminosity. The natural beauty of the mountains and river that comprise the Hudson Valley—where I was raised, has always transfixed me. Reflected, silvery light on the river, or the last light of the day against the dark warmth of evening clouds inspires a connection. I believe that my best artwork goes beyond the composition—I hope to evoke a feeling, have an effect that is beyond visual. In this luminous landscape series I create a spontaneous response to a moment in time and distill what I see to its essence.
